The Rosarito Student Film Festival is a week-long workshop made possible by a collaboration of alumni, faculty and students of Emerson College, RediscoveRosarito, The L.A. Program, Campus MovieFest, Rosarito Beach Hotel, and the former Mayor of Rosarito, Hugo Torres.
As part of an effort to project a positive image of the town of Rosarito, the film festival offers students an opportunity to develop and produce a film from their vantage point on Rosarito.
Working in teams, the students are given a camera, tripod, microphone, and computer and have one week to shoot and edit a film. All equipment is donated by Campus MovieFest, the world’s largest student film festival. The students’ final product will be viewed at the Baja Film Studios and an awards ceremony will follow, wrapping up the weeklong event.
The 2012 Festival takes place from August 5 to 12.
